How do I take my pension?
Taking your pension is an important step, and the administrator will support you through the process to help make your retirement as straightforward as possible.
Understanding your retirement options
Before you retire, you may wish to understand the options available to you, including:
- the pension you’re expected to receive
- any tax-free cash options
- how your benefits may be affected if you retire early or late
You can request a retirement illustration through OneView, your online portal. This will provide an estimate of your benefits and help you understand your retirement options.
You can find out more by visiting our Options at retirement page.
When you’re ready to retire
If you retire at your Normal Pension Age, Aptia will normally contact you 3 to 6 months beforehand with your retirement pack.
Your retirement pack will include:
- details of your pension benefits
- any forms you need to complete
- instructions on the information required to set up your pension payments
You may be asked to provide:
- bank details
- proof of identity
- personal information to support the retirement process
If you wish to retire earlier or later, you may be able to do so. These circumstances are individual and to understand your options in these cases, and how to begin the retirement process, please visit When can I retire?
Keep your details up to date
Making sure your personal details are up to date can help avoid delays when your pension is being processed.
